Keep your politics to yourself..

I am a very political person.  I will not talk about that here.  Period.  End of Story.

I don’t think political statements should be part of any website that is related to gaming. We play games to get away from real life for an hour or two. I don’t want to go look up a quest, and have political ads and banners all over the page. I don’t want to read a gaming forum, and have to scroll through pages of “Vote for —insert names –”. I go to a technical support forum to find out if anyone else is having problems gating home. I really don’t care who you are voting for. I don’t know what makes you think I do. Read more

New Bloggers Could Become Overwhelmed…

July 25, 2008 by Morninglark · 1 Comment

I am lucky that I have some computer knowledge. I have designed and maintained both static and content driven websites in the past.

Therefore I understand html, SEO, and most of the relevant things that would be needed on a website.

But blogging is a whole new experience. I have been trying to make the conversion, in my little brain …WOW. (ha,ha I am too old for this shit) Read more

Geek Quizzes - You know you love them!

Come on, admit it. You have spent at least a few hours taking all those internet quizzes. What is your IQ? What MMORPG are you? How redneck are you? (I know I have!)

After we take the quizzes, if we like the outcome, we rush to post them on Myspace. We let everyone know that we are the most excentric, and our Goth name is Dawn. I wanted to show you how to use them on your blogs instead.

The most annoying thing, for me, is all the pop-ups on those sites. I mean really…are you kidding me? Must I have 23 little windows advertising little dingbats and glitter things for my page? Does anyone ever actually click on those dumb annoying ads? Read more

Distracted on the Internet

So as you know, I have been trying to learn all about this thing they call ‘blogging’. During my travels, I read many articles on “what every blogger should know.”

One told me that I really needed to register for Digg, so I did… What they didn’t tell me, is that I would end up wandering around the Digg site for three days, reading blogs and digging them. (so much for writing my own blogs) Read more

Games for your Blog

July 16, 2008 by Morninglark · Leave a Comment

There are so many new gadgets and tools for blogging.

I was exploring on my I-Google site the other day, and had added a few of the gadgets to the page.

There were calendars, and quotes of the day. Silly little quizzes, and a soothing little aquarium thingy.

Then I clicked on games, and found a few. I could just install them on my google search page. (what will they think of next?!)

With a little more research, I figured out I could also install them on my blog posts. Read more
