[...] The lack of player housing in WoW suggests that there is a deeply entrenched aversion to any kind of feature that is not directly tied to combat within the currently male dominated Blizzard Star Chamber. It suggests that Blizzard is blissfully ignorant and unappreciative of female gamers that would enthusiastically embrace player housing. Anyone interested at all in bringing more female gamers to the MMO demographic should read Morninglark’s excellent article on player housing titled Why Have Player Housing? [...]

This game is garbage. Look at the Pathetic people who play this game all day and act tough on it. The man who created this game is a Crack addict. He has been in and out of rehab for 2 years now and lives in PA. He beat my cousin for 300 dollars back in 03 and tried to tell people he OD'd. The Godfather is a loser, drug addict and these pathetic losers are feeding his habit. Go get muted for nothing you losers. Bet the godfather is sucking down a huge crack rock right now. LOL

[...] The first, by Morninglark, discusses some reasons for having player housing in general and gives some great examples of housing done in other games. I found it a really great read, especially since I’ve not had the chance to play some of the games metioned so it was nice to see some different ways other games put player housing to use.
I've had bad experiences with Mobsters myself - firstly being stalked by a bunch of kids, then (after I made another profile) being accused of stalking myself.

I'm a blogger and would love to write about this subject. I'm looking for help, opinions, anything you might think is useful.

Please contact me on nathanr.ca/contact and feel free to share. You can write an entire post yourself if you want, I'll give you credit or an account to post it with.

Thanks.

Now you know why I haven't yet plugged a blog into my feeble attempt at a personal gaming site. After all, when you've played enough MMOs you do enough that it might not be a bad idea to document what you're doing and where. As it is, I have mentioned it a time or two in my MySpace blogging. The thing is blogs are like life, they are what you make of them. Some have all the bells and whistles, some are basic and utilitarian. Each and every one of them is unique. You just need to keep pouring out those jumbled ideas, kind of like doing the guildchat thing while milling about before a raid. You have all kinds of stuff going on and you need to let some of that out.

Well said! These days because of the impending election in the USA, I'm growing very weary of having to read political opinions on MMO and gaming blogs. I visit MMO sites because I want to read about MMOs. Besides, political opinions can be very divisive and can potentially alienate your readers -- not a good thing.

It would be like going to a restaurant and instead of seeing a menu for the cuisine instead you get a sales pitch for life insurance. I think the restaurant patrons would not come back if that ever happened.

So it is with blogs. We have certain expectations when we visit our favorite blogs i.e that the blog will be about MMOs etc. I think it comes down to a matter of having respect for your readers and having the good sense to focus on a particular subject matter for your blog.

By the way, great to see you back Morninglark!
