Well said! These days because of the impending election in the USA, I'm growing very weary of having to read political opinions on MMO and gaming blogs. I visit MMO sites because I want to read about MMOs. Besides, political opinions can be very divisive and can potentially alienate your readers -- not a good thing.

It would be like going to a restaurant and instead of seeing a menu for the cuisine instead you get a sales pitch for life insurance. I think the restaurant patrons would not come back if that ever happened.

So it is with blogs. We have certain expectations when we visit our favorite blogs i.e that the blog will be about MMOs etc. I think it comes down to a matter of having respect for your readers and having the good sense to focus on a particular subject matter for your blog.

By the way, great to see you back Morninglark!

To all of you, thank you for your comments, but you are missing a very important point...

These people..who were removed from the friends list after signing up...continued to pursue her.

They started sending nasty emails to her WORK email, all from information they gleaned by gaining access as a friend in mobsters. They were able to scroll through all of her information..intended for friends and family.

She got over 200 emails at her work, and over 50 to her home email. Her private email..not through myspace!

Some even looked up her phone number, and she got nasty phone calls.

I still say, you should be able to play a game like mobsters ...without having to give everyone on myspace access to your full profile!

We should be given a mobster profile where we can approve mobster friends, without ever having them join our actual myspace page.

I too joined mobsters....and am still playing but I have found a trick to it. You ask the people to add as a friend for mobsters, add them to your friends list, send them an invite to your mob, and then delete them from your friends list. You DO NOT have to have them as your friends on myspace after you send them a mob invite. They can be a member of your mob but are not on your friends list, so they do not leave comments, bulletins, or have any other sort of access to your profile. I, like you, was bombarded with the stupid bulletins, but do not have that problem now. This is just a tip for those that like the game, but do not want the stupid spam and other annoying things that come with having random people on your friends list. If you follow what I have said, you can enjoy the game and still enjoy myspace at the same time!!! Hope that this can help some that are frustrated.

All you had to do was remove the new people from your myspace friends list once they were in your mob . You didn't have to keep them as myspace friends.
simple as that.

Hi,
i was googling something and ran into your page here. I made an account just to reply. This is so sad to hear. From my understanding you can delete the friends you added just to be mobsters to continue having your page free from JUNK and the Bulletins Clear. I don't think you have to erase your myspace and lose your friends. I would like to know if you have tried that. Those people you erase, remain your mobsters but not your friends, and that shouldn't affect your bulletins.

Please write back soon,
Jane

let any of your friends know that play this game that all of those people don't -have- to stay on your friends list. Once they've joined your mob, you can delete them from your myspace friends list and they remain in your mob. I have 81 in my mob, and only about 23 on my friends list ;-) I delete them as SOON as they accept the mobster invite. That way, no spamming my friends, no spamming my bulletin board, etc.

I keep my myspace private, locked down, because I don't want crazies seeing pics of my kids or any personal information .. so I usually take a couple minutes to lock down all my albums and such so they are only visible to me, then go the forums where you can add tons of mobster people, and add about 20 or 30 at a time, once they're added to my mob, I delete them from my friends list, and open up my albums and blogs again for my friends. A few minutes of aggravation for a peaceful online experience ..

How old are the Vanguard dance videos you've seen? I believe the dances may be changing some in the next update or two, once they get the new character models rolled out. I know that the Isle of Dawn (the trial island) is currently on Test. You can /copycharacter or /charactercopy to copy a character to Test or you can start a new character on Test and start on the Isle. That might give you a better idea of what they've been up to for the last year. As well as giving you a better idea of whether or not the animations have been smoothed out some.
